Education – kyoiku in Japanese – is a sterilized ritual based on cradle-to-grave dependence on a system to provide for the sheep. The idea of headhunting is still unadopted in some Japanese circles, but with LinkedIn and other social media tools, the way employees are recruited and the education practices which defined post-war Japan are in flux.
There is no one-size-fits-all answer to this question, as the best education and career path for someone living and working in Japan will vary depending on the individual’s skills and interests. However, there are a few key things to keep in mind if you’re hoping to find a successful career in Japan.
First, it’s important to understand that Japan is a highly competitive economy, and many jobs are in high demand. So, it’s important to have skills and talents that are in high demand and can easily be applied in the Japanese work environment. Some good skills to have, for example, might be Japanese language skills, computer programming, management or business skills, etc.
Another important factor to keep in mind when looking for a job in Japan is the cultural context. A lot of the jobs available in Japan are in industries that are specific to Japan, such as the entertainment industry or the manufacturing industry. So, it’s important to be aware of the cultural expectations and requirements of the Japanese workplace if you want to be successful.
Finally, it’s worth noting that getting a job in Japan is not easy – it often takes a lot of hard work and networking to land a position in the right company. So, if you ‘re ready to commit to a career in Japan, be prepared to put in a lot of effort.
